Externships & Internships

We currently accept 4th year veterinary students, 2nd year veterinary technician students, and veterinary assistant students. We have students spends at least two weeks with us in order to give the students exposure to many different species. General Job Description for Externs

Externs are expected to spend at least a two week rotation at the hospital. The externs will shadow the veterinarians in the exam rooms and they will assist the doctor and technicians with a patient. The externs are expected to participate fully in all aspects of patient care under the supervision of the hospital staff. The hospital is open 6 days a week with evening hours. Externs are expected to work 40+ hours a week.

Credit & Wages

Externs will receive credit only if their school has approved the program. The extern is responsible for coordinating any paperwork that must be completed for the school. At this time no wages are paid to externs.
